Refund and returns policy

Our voluntary size-exchange policy and your rights when goods are defective or incorrectly supplied.

Last updated: 10 October 2026

Defective, unsafe or unsuitable goods

If goods do not meet the quality standards in the Consumer Protection Act, you may return them within six months after delivery, without penalty and at our risk and expense. Subject to the Act, you may direct us to repair or replace the goods, or refund the price paid. We may reasonably inspect the item to establish the reported failure, but an inspection does not remove your statutory choice where the item fails to meet the required standards.

If you choose a repair and, within three months after that repair, the same problem has not been remedied or another failure, defect or unsafe feature appears, we will replace the goods or refund the price paid, as required by the Act.

Incorrectly supplied goods

Please contact us promptly if we supplied an item different from the item agreed at the shop. We will deal with the matter in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act and will not charge you for correcting our error.

Voluntary size exchanges and change of mind

In addition to your statutory rights, we ordinarily allow a non-defective item to be returned within 14 calendar days after purchase for a size exchange or store credit. This voluntary policy applies where you provide reasonable proof of purchase and the item is unworn, unused, unwashed, unaltered, in a resalable condition, and has its original tags and packaging. It does not create a right to a cash refund for a change of mind. An exchange remains subject to replacement stock being available.

Items excluded from the voluntary policy

For hygiene, fit and resale reasons, the voluntary change-of-mind policy does not apply to opened hosiery or underwear; worn, washed or used goods; or goods altered, embroidered, named, specially ordered or otherwise customised for you. It also does not apply to clearance goods where the limitation was disclosed before purchase. These exclusions do not affect rights relating to defective, unsafe or incorrectly supplied goods.

How to arrange a return

Call 011 802 1608 or email hersha@wendywood-drapers.co.za, then bring the item and reasonable proof of purchase to Shop 3, Wendywood Shopping Centre, Daphny Street, Wendywood, Sandton, 2148. A till slip is helpful, but another reliable record of the purchase may be considered. Because the current catalogue offers in-store payment and collection, returns are handled at the shop.

Refunds

Where a refund is legally due, it will be made using an appropriate method after the return has been verified. Bank and card processing times may be outside our control. Nothing in this policy limits a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
