Last updated: 10 October 2026

Who is responsible for your information

Adidev Trading (Pty) Ltd, trading as Wendywood Drapers, is the responsible party for personal information processed through this website and our shop. Our principal business address is Shop 3, Wendywood Shopping Centre, Daphny Street, Wendywood, Sandton, 2148. Privacy and access requests may be sent to our Information Officer at hersha@wendywood-drapers.co.za or made by calling 011 802 1608.

Information we collect and where it comes from

We collect information you provide directly, including your name, contact and billing details, account details, enquiries, product and size selections, schoolwear requirements, stock requests, collection details and records of your dealings with us. The website also creates technical records such as IP address, device and browser information, login and security logs, and cookies needed for the basket, account and website operation.

Please provide information about a child only if you are the child’s parent or guardian, or are otherwise lawfully authorised to do so. We do not need sensitive information about a learner to assist with an ordinary schoolwear request.

Why we process information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries; check stock; prepare and administer requested items for collection; provide customer support; maintain accounts and transaction records; prevent misuse and protect the website; comply with tax, accounting and other legal duties; and establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Depending on the circumstances, processing is based on your consent, steps taken at your request, performance of a transaction, a legal obligation, or our legitimate business interests where these do not unjustifiably affect your rights.

Information you must provide

Information marked as required is needed to respond to a request, prepare goods or maintain an account. You may choose not to provide it, but we may then be unable to process the request or provide the relevant service. Other information is voluntary.

Who may process information

We may share information only as reasonably necessary with staff, professional advisers, website, communications, security and other service providers that help us operate the business, and with regulators or public authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information. Some service providers may process information outside South Africa; where this happens, we require an appropriate legal basis and safeguards consistent with POPIA.

Retention and security

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to meet legal and record-keeping duties, to resolve disputes and to protect legitimate business interests. We then delete, destroy or de-identify it where reasonably practicable. We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards and require service providers handling personal information for us to protect it. If a security compromise creates a legal duty to notify affected people or the Information Regulator, we will do so in accordance with POPIA.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold your personal information and request access to it; ask us to correct or delete inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, outdated, incomplete, misleading or unlawfully obtained information; object to certain processing; or withdraw consent where consent is the basis used. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law requires or permits this.

Complaints

Please contact our Information Officer first so that we can try to resolve a privacy concern. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za, call 010 023 5200, or visit inforegulator.org.za.

Cookies, marketing and updates

The site uses cookies needed for the basket, checkout request, account access, security and basic operation. If optional analytics or advertising tools are introduced, we will update the information and consent controls where required. We will not send electronic direct marketing without a lawful basis, and marketing messages will provide an appropriate way to opt out. We may update this policy when our practices or legal duties change.
